Founded in a quaint suburb of Ohio in 1924, the company began their first production of rubber rain boots in 1942 in the sweetly named city of Loveland. The boots were creatively named "totes" to emphasize their portable and easy to carry nature but the name soon became synonymous with the company. In 1961 new owners officially named the company Totes Incorporated. Having seen such success with rain-resistant boots, the next obvious product venture was of course, umbrellas.
